FAQ's

What is the difference between trade-in and consignment?

With a trade-in you bring your firearm to the shop and we make you an offer on the spot – you walk out with store credit or cash. With consignment, we list and sell the firearm for you, handling everything from the listing to shipping it out. You get paid after it sells minus any consignment fees.

Do I need an appointment to bring in an item?

Appointments are preferred as we are a small shop and are not always on site. If you are planning to bring a large collection or want to confirm we’re in, please call ahead at (904)644-GUNS.

What types of firearms do you accept?

We accept most handguns, rifles, and shotguns. We can also help handle any NFA items!

Can I get an estimate online or over the phone?

We can provide a rough estimate from a description and photos, but a final offer price will always require an in-person inspection.

How do you determine trade-in value?

We look at condition, make/model, age, accessories, etc. We then compare to similar listings and sales online through sites like Guns.com and GunBroker.

Do you pay cash or store credit on trade-ins?

We offer both, although store credit usually gets you a higher value.

How does the consignment process work?

Simple steps: 1) we inspect and agree on a listing price and consignment term, 2) you sign a consignment agreement, 3) we list and display the firearm in-store and online, 4) when the firearm sells we complete the transfer and pay you after the sale minus the consignment fee.

What are your consignment fees?

Our standard fee is 25% of the final sale price plus whatever any listing site may charge. Each platform has different fees ranging from 6% to 10%. If your firearm is sold in-store, there are no additional fees.

Can I change the price or pull my firearm off consignment early?

Yes, you can request a price change or withdraw the item. If you withdraw early there may be a small handling fee (we’ll state this in the agreement). We’ll always communicate clearly about next steps.

Do you handle background checks and transfers?

Yes. All transfers are done through our Federal Firearms License (FFL) procedures and comply with federal and Florida law. Buyers who require a background check will complete the necessary forms (e.g., ATF Form 4473) at the time of purchase.

How should I bring my firearm to the shop?

For everyone’s safety, bring firearms unloaded, in a case or safe container, with the action open (if possible). Don’t bring ammunition with the gun unless asked. We’ll handle inspection safely and respectfully.

What happens if my firearm doesn’t sell?

After the consignment term ends we’ll contact you with options: extend the listing, reduce the price, or return the firearm. If you don’t pick it up in a timely manner, we’ll follow the storage/abandonment policy stated in the consignment agreement.

Anything else I should know?

We aim to make the process clear, fast, and friendly. We follow all federal and Florida laws and will explain any legal requirements that apply to your transaction. If you have a specific firearm or a unique situation, call or stop by — we’ll walk you through it!
